According to The Telegraph, Trevor Prideaux has become perhaps the first man with a built in smartphone.

Prideaux was born without a left arm, and had to go to extra lengths to use his cell phone.

Thanks to help from Nokia and medical experts in Great Britain, Prideaux now has a Nokia C7 embedded in his prosthetic arm, which makes texting and calling his friends and family infinitely easier.

Prideaux says this about the medical marvel:

I think this is the first time this has ever been done in the world – and it is brilliant

Seeing medical technology merge with communications is extremely exciting, as we’ve seen amazing life-changing stories in the past thanks to technology achievements and creativity.

If you want to create a new share, there’s a tab up top that allows you to do so. From that page, you can choose to upload new videos, or you can share the ones you’ve already uploaded. When you do share, you do so by an email address, and you’re prompted to create a new contact if you haven’t already created one associated to that email. You can then include a message with your share, if you so choose and you can also choose to allow your video to be re-shared, or held specifically to the person with whom you’ve shared. There’s a desktop app for Givit, as well, and a mobile app is in the works. At the moment you’ll need to do all of your mobile work via the mobile site, which constrains things a bit but is still usable (the iPhone app is slated for November 1st, and December 1st for Android). Using the desktop app, however, allows you to plug in your Flip-style camera, then upload a batch of videos, with the latest being shown first in the app’s interface. New computer interface are pouring out of the labs. Which with the breakdown of the mouse and keyboard paradigm now will most likely spread everywhere. Just think of how few mechanical or moving parts (read: expensive and needs mechanical repair and replacement) a computer using an interface of light will have.

Watch this 1 year old girl’s confusion when she is given a magazine after playing with an iPad. This is a perfect example of how kids these days are much more accustomed to the new technologies than pretty much ever before. I’m willing to bet this 1 year old would use an iPad much more efficiently than perhaps an 85 year old person. Thoughts?

The proposal would give 10,000 free round trip tickets to social media users to help promote the country as a safe and exciting holiday destination and create buzz online. Selected travellers would enjoy free flights, though they would need cover all other costs including accommodation and food. All travellers would be obligated to document their trip using Facebook, Twitter, a blog or other social networks. “We are hoping to get highly influential blogger-types, and others who can spread the word that Japan is a safe place to visit,” Kazuyoshi Sato, from the agency, is quoted as saying.
